How to make weight loss after c section

You have successfully sailed through the pregnancy and delivered the bundle of joy while you are revealing the immense pleasure of motherhood, you may worry about how to lose all the pregnancy weight we have put on. This can be worse if you had weight loss after c section and have to give your body and your wounds a longer time to recover. You will even need to be careful about the way you progress for several weeks.

Some of the important areas that require exercise after the weight loss after c section are the corset the muscles called the transverse abdominal muscles. These muscles surrounded the spine, the pelvic muscles, and the muscles of the abdomen and back. 

Post pregnancy belt 

Doctors usually recommend using the griddle or an abdominal belt after the c-section to protect the incisions or wounds. This belt is more used to it just to offer protection, it can help you tuck and tummy and also prevent the build up of additional fat cells on the tummy. While the fat loss is not the actual purpose of the belt, it can help to some extent. You can use the belt at all times while eating, sleeping, or using the washroom. 

Drink plenty of the water 

Drinking about 8 to 10 glasses of water daily cannot only keep you hydrated but can also keep you breastfeeding better, the better your breastfeeding schedule, then there are better your chances of weight loss.  

Start walking 

Walking, particularly brisk walking is understood to hurry up the process of recovery and also control blood clots. Walking doesn’t strain your body a lot and gives you a good cardio workout.  


You can begin to practice yoga about six to eight weeks after the c-section delivery. You must consult the doctor before starting yoga and seek help. Yoga when combined with the proper diet can not only help you lose weight but can also improve muscular strength and flexibility.


Once your wounds have recovered well, you can start with the simple exercises, be careful not to overdo it right in the beginning. It is most useful to start slowly and build up as time perishes. 


Hold your body in the push-up position with your elbows resting on the floor. Keep your back straight and ensure that your abs are contracted, being by the body holding this position for 30 seconds, and gradually stay in the position for a longer time.   


It is common knowledge that breastfeeding is the way to provide nutrients to your newborn baby. However, what is known the most is that breastfeeding can be an effective aid for weight loss after c section. Breastfeeding can burn around 300 to 500 calories each day, this can be the ideal way to lose that extra weight on the tummy.  

Count your calories  

While breastfeeding doesn’t burn calories daily, it can make you hungry. The best way to keep your stomach satisfied and keep a check on your weight loss calories is to consume. Make healthier snack choices, things like plain yogurt, nuts, flaxseeds, fruits and salads, and lean meat can cater to your appetite and help you in losing weight. Keep in mind to not let your calorie count drop below 1200, as this can lower your metabolism and be counterproductive to the objective of losing weight.
