According to Thailand sales data, a total of 388,296 pick-up trucks were sold in 2022 and this accounted for 45.7% of all vehicles sold in the Kingdom. Without a doubt, pick-ups continue to dominate the Thai automotive segment but two models stand up above the rest – the Isuzu D-Max and Toyota Hilux.
Combined, both pick-ups control 83% market share with the Isuzu D-Max leading the way for the third year in a row. 175,425 units of the D-Max were sold in 2022 which accounts for 45.56% market share.
In second place is the Toyota Hilux which saw 148,101 units sold in the same year, accounting for 37.77% market share. Even if it had to settle for runners-up in overall sales, the Hilux was Thailand’s best-selling pick-up truck (and car) for the month of December as it sold 15,325 units compared to 13,869 units of the D-Max.

It has mainly been a fight between the two pick-up trucks throughout the year with the D-Max topping the sales chart every month in 2022 except for October and December which saw the Hilux snatching the crown.

The other brands were no match in terms of sales with the third place Ford Ranger ending the year with a mere 33,815 units sold throughout the Kingdom. This was followed by the Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara, MG Extender, and Mazda BT-50.
