The Toyota Corolla Cross is currently available in three variants, the entry 1.8E starts from RM 130,400, the mid-range 1.8G stats from RM 137,400, while the range topping Hybrid starts from RM 142,000.
Soon, a fourth variant could join the line-up. If this sole photo shared by AJ Felix is what we think it is, we can expect UMW Toyota Motor to launch a sportier GR Sport variant of the Corolla Cross.

We still don’t know if this is a cosmetics-only job but unlike Toyota distributors in Thailand and Indonesia, UMW Toyota Motor takes its GR branding a little bit more seriously, so we won’t rule out chassis stiffening and handling-improving upgrades yet.
Whereas GR Sport variants in other neighbouring markets are mere dressed up jobs, our local Toyota Vios GR Sport for example, has upgraded suspension and a sportier transmission mapping (still a CVT though). Similar chassis upgrades could be available for our local Toyota Corolla Cross.

GR Sport styling parts inside and outside is a given and since the tail lights are taped up, we suspect that there might be a new pair of smoke tail lights, as seen on the Thailand market Corolla Cross GR Sport.
The 10-spoke wheels are also new. The Corolla Cross’ signature chrome blade in the C-pillar and window liners have also been replaced with what looks like a matt-coloured item.

Expect an announcement to be made after Chinese New Year.
